Cookbook for a Cause - "After I'm Gone: Recipes for the Hereafter"
This past summer, Lee “Popie” Shapiro passed away at the age of 87. Her memory though is thriving through the republication of her self-published cookbook, “After I’m Gone: Recipes for the Hereafter.”
Twenty-four years ago, Mrs. Shapiro published the cookbook featuring 90 recipes. The cookbook features a variety of dishes including Super Duper French Toast, Angel Biscuits, and Chicken Picatta. Mrs. Shapiro set out to share her favorite recipes and food with her family. Now, in addition to teaching others the wonderful recipes, her cookbook is raising money for a great cause.
Mrs. Shapiro died from complications surrounding Alzheimer’s disease. Her family decided to republish the book to raise money for Alzheimer’s. 100% of the proceeds from the sale of the book go directly towards the Alzheimer’s Association.
